Owing to electrical supply problems between Dorchester and Weymouth SouthWest Trains were unable to run their regular electric service. Hastily drafted in from Salisbury, and off its normal Waterloo to Salisbury / Exeter route, 159108 operated an hourly shuttle service from Dorchester to Weymouth. Seen here operating 2W87 16:33 Dorchester South - Weymouth, on what would be its final round trip before a normal service was restored after repairs were undertaken by Network Rail.

4-JOP No. 8014 leads classmate No. 8006 out of Poole working 5Z80 13:35 Poole - Bournemouth - Poole empty stock move, this was due to lack of available siding accommodation at Poole.
The units were working the Class 458 "farewell tour" from Waterloo to Poole. The Class 458 and 460 units are being merged into the new South West Trains Class 458/5 unit intended for the Waterloo to Reading line.
Although part of the South West Trains fleet these units never work this far out of London making it a rare working in itself.

Worgret Junction
Another historic first for the Swanage Railway with the arrival of the first Class 70, and the first Colas Railfreight operated working. Having just come off the Waterloo to Weymouth main line at Worgret Junction, 70809 heads along the single line towards Furzebrook, working 6C18 06:56 Eastleigh Yard - Furzebrook Sidings loaded with spent ballast which will be used to build up an eroded embankment.
The white sign reads "End of Norden to Worgret Token Section", the line from Worgret Junction to Norden being worked by "No Signalman Key Token" and supervised by Corfe Castle signalbox.

Shame the location is blighted by overhead power lines between the pylons which can just be made out here, it's a real struggle these days to find just quarter of a mile of line side free of clutter and obstructions..

Departmental trip working 5B39 10:01 Wimbledon Park - Bournemouth Depot makes its way towards Christchurch formed of 455739, 456005 and 456023.
The entire fleet of 24 2-car Class 456 units had been transferred from Southern to South West Trains during 2014.
A couple of sets have been used in the Bournemouth area for testing purposes, although not their intended area of use once fully in service, obviously this pair being tripped back to Bournemouth for further testing.
