Harmans Cross
Class 37's are always crowd-pullers and The National Railway Museum's Class 37 No. D6700 (37119 / 37350) is no exception. Here it heads on up towards Harmans Cross hauling the 14:30 Swanage to Norden in some fine weather.

It's like a racehorse doing the work of a donkey!
Thoroughbred 55002 Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry trots on down the bank to Swanage with the 4TC set running as 1S07 14:05 Norden - Swanage.

Courtesy of GB Railfreight was one of their Class 73's in the shape of the popular large-logo liveried 73207. Seen paired up with the railway's

Another fantastic Swanage Railway diesel gala which is now in its seventh year. One of several visiting locomotives included former Freightliner Class 47 No. 47292 in semi large-logo livery. Whilst not a truly authentic livery for this machine, it certainly doesn't look out of place, as it heads past New Barn working 1S05 12:35 Norden - Swanage with the 4TC.

One of this years star attractions was privately owned Class 24 No. D5081 (24081) based on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Here the superb D5081 rounds the curve at New Barn working the 13:00 Norden to Swanage.
New to traffic in 1960 this locomotive had the distinction of being the final member of a 151 strong locomotive fleet to remain in traffic, its withdrawal coming in October 1980, although it worked its final train on 7 January 1980. With only 20 years service with British Rail 24081 has now enjoyed 34 years retirement in preservation, and becomes one of only four Class 24's to be preserved.
The website for this locomotive can be found here.

A classic Southern Region combination of Class 33 and 73. Heading the 13:30 Swanage - Norden past New Barn, and on towards Harmans Cross, Swanage Railway resident 33202 Dennis G. Robinson leads GB Railfreight's visiting 73207 hauling London Underground's 4TC set.
Hopefully a scene similar to this will be a regular feature of the Swanage Railway in the not so distant future with a 4TC of their own based on the railway. Details of the Swanage TC Group can be found here.

Under somewhat threatening skies Network SouthEast liveried 50026 Indomitable really stands out having just been repainted from large-logo livery. Whilst the Class 50's were painted in this livery, this particular locomotive only wore the original Network livery, unlike this version which became known as "revised" Network livery.
With the London Underground 4TC set in tow 50026 Indomitable passes Dickers Crossing working 1S05 12:35 Norden - Swanage.
